Jake grew up in Brooklyn, NY. Imbued at a young age with the New York City entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for technology — Jake has followed both of those passions throughout his life, creating numerous small businesses and side hustles throughout his childhood and teenage years. After attending Stuyvesant High School, he made his first move down south for college to attend the University of Virginia, studying Engineering and Economics.
Coming out of school, Jake was quickly placed in a leadership role as a Product Owner for IBM, helping the US Census Bureau prepare for the 2020 Census. From there, Jake took an opportunity to work with one of the fastest-growing technology startups in DC at the time, Virtru, which became Google's sole recommended partner for G Suite encryption. Since then, Jake has gone on to help build multiple early-stage startups as a founder, product manager, advisor, or product coach.
Today Jake is a proven software product leader with five years of experience in the startup world. His particular passion is for creating software products with beautiful user experiences (not like this). He has led products from the ideation stage to millions of users and tens of millions of dollars in recurring revenue. Jake has a demonstrable history of successfully working with distributed teams in both B2C and B2B environments, in fitness, education, data security, email, govtech, insurance, and social networking.
These days Jake works remotely — either from his home in downtown Charleston or from some beach somewhere.
